Wester Ross and Torridon

This is a place for those who like drama. It is all around. The wild and crazy mountain ranges of Torridon. The Bealach na Ba (the pass of the cattle) providing unsurpassed views of Raasay and Skye as a reward for tackling one of the most nerve shredding roads in existence leading to the peaceful village of Applecross.

The splendour of Loch Maree with Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve on the south shore and Letterewe estate on the north. The fantastic beaches of Gairloch, the magnificence of Inverewe Gardens on the shores of Loch Ewe, the Corrieshalloch Gorge and Falls of Measach under the care of the National Trust for Scotland. Wistful Little Loch Broom and Loch Broom, leading to the port of Ullapool, departure point to the Western Isles.

You may be unsure of when you would like to escape to this dramatic part of the Highlands – after all the mountains and lochs have been here for millennia – but once you arrive you will be captivated and enraptured. Don’t put it off for too long.
